Advice Wanted!

Hi, can anyone help. My kidneys are not functioning properly and my gp has advised me to take Ramapril 125mg which should help the filtration. All the comments i have read relate to heart problems. Is there anyone out there that is using the drug for the same reason as myself. Your comments would be appreciated smile

Hey puddle - I am on Ramipril for BP but I was looking at patient co uk and came accross this:

Before taking ramipril make sure your doctor or pharmacist knows:

If you are pregnant, trying for a baby or breast-feeding.

[i:e4a1bc89e0][u:e4a1bc89e0]If you suffer from kidney, liver or heart disease. [/u:e4a1bc89e0][/i:e4a1bc89e0]

If you suffer from Raynaud's disease (a disease affecting the circulation in the fingers).

You sure your taking it for kidney issues?

Hi. Thanks for the response. Yes definately for the kidneys. She said it would improve the filtration. The thing that also concerns me is that my blood pressure is also quite low so i am not confident in what she is advising is correct. :?

I would definately go back to your Drs as i have been taking ramipril for over 5 years and now my kidney function is decreasing and the Dr thinks it could be the medication, so i aint no Dr but it doesn't sound quite right to me mate.
