Hi All,
Firstly, i'd like to thank everyone who contributes on here, it has helped a great deal over the years in realising I am not alone in this.
10 years ago I got laser eye treatment and around a year later developed multiple styes on upper and lower lids. I was told this was blocked meibodiam glands and had them surgecially removed. My eyes have never been the same since really. Sometimes red but the most frustrating aspect is the inflammation, especially over the lower lids. Over the years I have tried a number of things, namely heat pads to warm the glands followed by massage, belphasol, manuka honey, eye drops, eye drops with manuka honey in and even witch hazel to try and bring down the inflammation.
These last few days I have given Lynda's solution a try with wet ones and seen some early signs of improvement so fingers crossed. given my background with stye removal and gland disfunction, has anyone got any more advice or things they have learned.
Thanks in advance. This issue has effected my confidence a huge amount for the last 8-10 years

Hi Nick
I have followed your? exact regimen for years with a good degree of success.
When I was younger I had a few styes which wouldn't resolve and become
Chalazions which I had cut out. Now whenever I have a stye developing I take
Minocyclene till they go away, usually 4 days or so which happens just a couple
of times a year.
Good luck, Tom

Thanks for your feedback! Which regimen specifically do you follow with success? The Wet ones?
Have you suffered with inflammation? I was not too sure if wet ones would have a positive effect on my own situation, but as I said, initially looks like it could be. I presume since I have had this for over 8 years it could take a while to see a noticeable effect.
Again, appreciate you sharing your experience. I'd be interested to hear Lynda79's opinion based on what I have shared

Inflame. A simple hot compress for a bit followed by vigorous
massage of the eyelids. (Women always object to my use of the
word vigorous, but it works.)

I am also optimisitic about the wet ones and will couple this with some hot compresses and massage

Hello Nick, I too had one of these awful things several years back, my GP removed it under local anaesthetic at the surgery. I was also diagnosed with blepharitis and prescribed with God knows what but it didn't seem to help. I had a short infection of seborrheic dermatitis (thanks sister-in-law) and was prescribed Capasal shampoo, this quickly cleared the SD and I noticed it improved the blepharitis so I developed a regime of a daily morning hot shower using capasal and using it around my eyes thoroughly washing my eyelashes and eyebrows. This has kept the blepharitis and sore eyelids away for years now.
?Just recently, I have developed another chalazion in the same place, maybe due to a dusty environment as we were having a new kitchen fitted, I don't really know why. My GP just said to dab with hot compresses and prescribed chloramphenicol and if that doesn't work go see eye casualty. Well, it didn't work and I went to see eye casualty, they tested my vision, examined the chalazion and said there is nothing they can do in case it goes wrong and I sue them!
?I am in the process of changing my NHS practice now to get a new GP, I couldn't get back in to my original one as they no longer support my area.
I have had this 5 weeks now and it is affecting my near vision.
