Please help? Does anybody know the the range please for urine MMA? I had a test done in the UK which was 0.64 mg/l l before I moved to Australia 2 weeks ago and the doctor has not got back to me and I really need to give the results to my GP who had never heard of this test before
I have tested positive for partial sell antibodies in January but my b12 is 79 just in normal range (lower end). I have been feeling terrible since July this year, burning tongue, fatigue, buring hands and feet and poor memory.
Many thanks in Advance

Not sure whether the moderator will allow this link or even if you will be able to open it but here goes.

No - I'm sorry, having tried several Google searches, I couldn't find any reference to ranges for the Umma tests.
Were you able to access the "Norman Clinical Laboratory" website? If so, scroll right down to the bottom and click on "Email NCL" in white lettering and ask the question there.
All the information I have is:
The MMA test. Methylmalonic acid is a chemical used up in one of the cellular reactions mediated by B12. If there's not enough B12 in the cell then MMA levels will rise. If they're not high then it means your cellular levels of B12 are OK. High levels of plasma MMA (>0.75umol/L0 almost invariably indicate cobamalin deficiency.
The uMMA test measures the amount of MMA in the urine or blood. Elevated levels of MMA indicate B12 deficiency. MMA is 40 times more concentrated in the urine than the blood, and the urinary MMA (uMMA) is the preferred test over the serum MMA.
"The new BCSH guidelines say: “Plasma tHcy and/or plasma MMA, depending on availability, may be considered as supplementary tests to determine biochemical cobamalin deficiency in the presence of clinical suspicion of deficiency but an indeterminate serum cobamalin level”.
If you ever do find the ranges I'd be interested to know.
I guess it's "goodnight" time for you so sleep well.
