After 9 years of BV it's finally GONE!

Hey Ladies I have tried everything in the world over the last 9 years to get rid of BV. Doctor after doctor, meds, home remedies anything anybody told me about I tried it. Finally I cut my Carb intake down to 20g a day for 2 weeks then increased to 50g per day after that. I have been sympton free for over four months. I can't believe it myself but it worked. Even during my period I have no symptons. My BV was so bad I carried femine itch cream around in my handbag, gym bag, make up case everywhere. I would find myself applying it every couple of hours some days. Finally I'm free of this nightmare. Please try it and Good Luck!

I'm admittedly no health nut. I've been been looking into eating healthier lately and I have noticed a considerable difference in my BV symptoms, but the syptoms are still barely holding on. Can you be more specific about what foods you cut out?

Hey I'm no health nut either but I was willing to try anything to get some relief. I cut out all refined sugar and anything that turns to sugar in the body like potatoes. I mostly stick to little to no sweets or startches. During the 1st two weeks I didn't eat any sweets or starches. After the initatinal two weeks my symptons were gone and they have not been back! Thank God! Even durning my period, sex, swimming and in all this heat of the summer. I'm in the South so it's very hot/humid and that has always made it worse for me. At the time a decided to try cutting down on the carbs my BV was at it's worst!! Odor, itching, burning, discharge all of it. It was truly a nightmare. I really hope this helps you out, it certainly has changed my life! Good Luck!

Gets interesting this conversation  I have the same theory re thrush / bv and food. I too cut out sugars as much as possible as its in everything you can think of and cut out carbs and fingers crossed I seen to be improving. Scary I'm frightened of saying I'm improving in case it starts up again. I too struggle when it's hot and my lower bits get overheated and very uncomfortable. It has to be linked I also take femidophillis which helps the god bacteria in you multiply and make it all balance again.

I really hope for both our sakes the BV stays gone!! I found the Phase 1 of the Adkins diet works for the 1st two weeks. It seemed to clear my system of all the sugar! But your right everything has sugar in it and it's hard to eliminate.

I'm obsessed with reading what's on packets and cereals and jars to see what sugars they contain. I'm so worried that if I eat any sugars I will get it back because I think it's hovering all the time. It's like balancing scales and trying to have a life.

Amen honey I feel the same way! Sometimes I really want something sweet but I know its not worth it! However I eat Reddi Whip (spray it right out of the can) to satisfy my sweet thooth its very low sugar. But it still taste sweetsmile

I was afraid of that.. Although its worth it. I've had BV for 6 years now. Its been mostly bad. I was in a terrible relationship for 4 and a half of those years because it was so bad I thought no one else would want me. Fortunately, eating fresh garlic minimizes the syptoms enough where I finally felt confident enough to leave. My point is BV is a f*$%#@@#$ nightmare! I'm gunna try cutting carbs to see if it will work for me. Y'all should add fresh garlic to your diets daily because it has antibacterial properties. I cut it up in little pieces and put it in my scrambled eggssmile

You can put tea tree oil in your bath that is also antibacterial mixed with lavender oil it's lovely. Coconut oil is also antibacterial and you can eat it and use it on your body or buy it in capsules from amazon as well as garlic capsules . It's amazing what we learn to try and rid our bodies of horrible stuff.

I have this intermittently with chronic utis becoming acute .However metranizadole does the trick  with this not utis.Somewhere  have I heard there could be a connection with chlamydia ??!!

I haven't heard of a connection between BV and any STD's but if I were concerned I would see a doctor. I understand the fear because I have been there and I thought I must have every STD out there. I have seen several doctors and all my paps and labs show only BV.
