After Havjng SVT episode

HI, whilst i never want anyone to experience any ill health, it is somewhat satisfying to hear your experiences are common to mine, as we all believe our own feelings are more serious than others.

I have had episodes spanning over 10+ years (35 now) and my last episode yesterday. It brings me into a deep sense of panic everytime and actually makes me psychologically depressed during the episode and afterwards.

It's the aftermath that is equally difficult for me because after SVT or even the body fighting against the Bisoprolol and attempting

bring on an episode unsuccessfully , can leave my chest uncomfortable, aching and feeling bruised, aching back muscles as well as chest, tiredness, further attempts of SVT grabbing my breath.

im walking like an old man with a mixture of anxiety and after effects of SVT and my business, which is only office based is failing!

I have always said no to an ablation but i am realising that i am alive, but not living and want my life back!!

I now also have my first child been born and pains me to not be able to fully engage with her as im withdrawn in my own physical condition and self pity!

PLEASE share your experiences with me. How do you feel before SVT? How do you feel after SVT? Have you had an ablation? Have you got one booked in? How has this effected you mentally? Has it caused severe anxiety?

WE MUST REMEMBER, THERE ARE WORSE THINGS OUT THERE.

LOVE TO YOU ALL AND PRAY FOR YOU ALL TO HAVE SPEEDY RECOVERIES.

hi luke, its good to hear your story. know exactly how you feel. ive had a few eps the last year or so. one really bad one when i needed to go to hospital. i got dignosed with AVNRT. and i am having the ablation in 8 weeks, weird to say i cant wait. im 23 and due to join the police, so scared of having another SVT and the awful feeling it gives your chest, like its flip flopping! i dont suffer everyday but i am on beta blockers to prevent eps, i get palptations daily. though there is much worse conditions, its a horrible one to have and gives so much anxiety. i was lucky i got dignosed so quickly and was offered the ablation so quickly too! please go for it, it cures 95% of patients and has such a low risk. hope you feel better soon.

bless you both for replying. Ive had an awful week with feeling bad in my chest an back and my body wanting to enter another episode but thankfully never materialises. Really effecting my mental health in a very bad way. I will have the ablation and will share my positive experience!!Also, Keep in there Tara and the very best of luck with the police! The fact you shared the time to respond means you have the heart to work and make a difference for the public! XX

I'm 72 years old, Luke and I battled the SVT monster for 50 of those. I understand everything you wrote, and I experienced much of what you have experienced and are experiencing. If a health-care person you trust tells you that you are a good candidate for ablation, I strongly encourage you to pursue it. I'm 2.5 years post my successful ablation, and my quality of life is immensely better. Life still challenges me, and will continue to challenge you, but I'm confident you'll not regret ablation. I do wish the very best for you.

Your response encourages me, Luke. I'm confident that better times are coming for you, and will give you an opportunity to "Pay It Forward" to others. I hope we'll hear of that directly from you. I wish you very well.

hi, thank you for your kind words. Would you be able to advise if there is a way to message people privately on here!? I dont feel overly comfortable being so open publicly.
