Oh no! I've heard that can happen, especially if you are on a liquid diet. I'd phone your doctor.

I'm waiting for a surgery date for myself. Good luck with your problem, let us know what works.

yep too familar Was no told of this or that codamol painkiller adds to being bunged up

I took every thing on the market in both ends using the  faecial impaction dose of 8 sachets a day for 4 days at a time x2 and drank soo much water  it took 10 days with figs ( fresh ) and a litre of prune juice a day  till it worked for me ( silly doc said have a curry a day! ) so just carry on  I Lost my appetite and weight in the first 4 weeks after and  my 7 year old ate more than  me  I was on child meals at the pub! Now at 8 weeks my appetite has at last come back  first breakfast yesterday in 8 weeks and I do get the runs sometimes  as I am addicted to prune juice and still eat figs too  good luck and try evrything  it will eventually work I feel about 70% now but after a normal day the following day I feel useless

For me its a very slow road back and worse by far than I could ever have imagined but I had to be done  i feel there is no support for me though very very poor indeed

    Hi Vickie

Well suffice to say I have never had that problem, perhaps I am lucky. About 12 months ago I was diagnosed as having an IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) and the CT Scan showed a sliding Hiatus Hernia which Papworth prescribed medication of Lansoprazole 15mg daily. I am hopful that before February when I next go back there if another CT Scan will be done to see if this medication is doing any good.

I know this doesn't help you and all I can suggest is that you go back and see your GP and 'bang the drum', perhaps this will then wake them up and get something done through the hospital.

    Kind regards

Check with your doctors, although it wasn't surgery I had I had a investigative procedure done. And it was two weeks before I could go! Continue on the laxitives (syrup) is best I found drink plenty of water and hope for the best! Do check with dr just incase after surgery though that this is normal

    Best of luck
