After My Surgery-Both Arms

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had the surgery on the 30th of August. It wasn't bad at all. I am slowly recovering and so far I haven't had any problems. Not much pain. Just making myself rest and not being able to do much. Other than that I am fine. Feel free to ask me any questions. It wasn't as bad as I thought and it was out patient.

Well done. Is there a lot of leakage fro the incisions?

I had to wear bandages for the first two days and there was a little, but none since then.

That doesn't sound too bad. How was the pain?

It's not painful at all just sore and it gets a little frustrating, because you can't move much

About a month...mine us just sore as of now I haven't been doing much moving, so I am not sure. I still have my stitches in

Its good you resting ..I think I went back to work too soon after a week of surgery. I didn't have stitches I just had the draining and where they plug the wound which took 2 weeks to close.

Years ago when I saw the specialist he said he didn't recommend surgery because it had a poor success rate. I wonder if things have improved a lot? Also, I'm in UK, not sure where you ladies are? Treatment does vary in different countries.

Hi Jay...I heard the same from my surgeon that i should rather keep to the draining of abscess than having the flap operation he calls it where they do.skin grafting. Im from South Africa and believe me e Dr are not so clued up with this disease. Its a constant battle. Im so tired of this condition. My energy level just dropping sad

There's a real lack of understanding and expertise on this condition in the medical profession.

Really sad ...I honestly don't understand that no one seems to make an effect to find a solution for this. I am starting an awareness campaign in SA and see how far it goes. I want to help others too maybe raid enough funds for research in the medical.

Don't know how long I can keep on working too. I'm in too much pain every single day for the past 5 months. Need a dam holiday lol

I think people just don't realise how much pain this condition can cause. I have had occasions in the past when I couldn't raise my arms to do anything, and even a slight movement could have me screwed up in agony. As for the emotional and social effects.......................where would I start?!

So true ...no one knows how bad this is. As for social life gone a long time ago. I prefer staying home. So sad to live like this. sad ...right now I feel like bursting into tears worried how I'm going to feel in the morning to get up and go to work. Practically living on pain meds.

The thing that has helped me most is going dairy free. I also found a soap that doesn't irritate but if I go on holiday and forget to take it with me, I will always get a flare up because I have to us esomething else.

I'm too using an antiseptic soap e one surgeons use here called hibisrcub quite nice makes lots of bubbles in the bath tub lol...i guess thats my fun part of having this is bathing in bubbles. I think dairy is also one i need to abstain from especially coffee.

The soap I use is a dead sea salt mineral bar, it's by a firm called Malki, and the only place i can ever get it is Boots the chemist. It's the only thing that doesn't sting or irritate.
