finding this condition hard to accept, the only symptom that I don't have as yet is the pressure points. When I have two good days I get five bad and so on its a viscous circle. Any advice out there I'm 49 and feel my life is over.  Prescribed anti-depressants and tramadol, paracetamol for pain.  Gabapentin seems to be helping with my burning feet and restless leg also helping me to sleep through the night. God how do people continue like this

    Hi tan

I'm Sadie I'm 35 and have had fibro 2 years but diagnosed in Jan this year ! I have 3 children 2,12 and 16 and work 32 hours a week. I'm currently taking pregabalin amatriptolin tramadol zapain also I have to take iron and folic I rattle as I walk lol

I feel your pain to be honest I have waited to end my life on a few occasions as the pain is just so unbearable on a bad day . To be honest I just thought I can't do pain every day so I just can't be here anymore but after starting pregabalin it has saved me it hasn't cured me but has stopped the every day pain unless I have a flare up then I'm back to square one

This board has been a life saver to no it's not all in my head and that it is real and people do have it ! I also have been awarded pip which gave me a bit of hope that people are realising this is a real condition

I hate having fibro but you have to learn to take each day as it comes

    Love Sadie x

Hi Sadie , are you allowed pip if you are able to work?

I'd assumed it was for people who aren't able to work ? ( although I haven't looked into it)

Do you take amitryptilene at night to help sleep? Can I ask how much?

I'm having real trouble sleeping .

      Need something to help!

Yes you are able to work and have pip also if you are on working tax credits then you also get a disability part to it to

I take up to 50mg of amatriptolin but trying to stay with 20mg

Thanks Sadie , I'm trying to find answers myself as I'm not really getting there with the drs.

I know this sounds silly but is your pain really severe? I assume it is as your on lots of analgesia. The dr tells me I don't have fibro but I don't believe them. I have low back and hip pain ( but I have some OA) can't sleep and v anxious. But I'm not really taking any pain killers . My feet burn on and off .

To be honest before I went on meds I used to cry every day in pain my whole body was in pain I've never felt anything like it in my life

It was like the marrow inside my bones were on fire 24/7 the pain in my legs were the worst

      Thanks .

Perhaps I don't have it then as my pain really is nothing like your description . Maybe the dr is right!

Glad you've found some meds that help you x

    Hi Tan

Would you mind if I ask what symptoms you have and how/ who diagnosed you?

I don't have any answers I'm afraid but think I'm in a similar position to you.

I think I have fibro, but a rheumatologist had said they don't think I do have it.

I do have terrible anxiety and depression ,can't sleep well and have burning feet.

I have hip and back pain , but it's bearable

most of the time. When I've been examined I have 5/6 tender points . I really don't know what to

do as I feel I'm not being listened to.

    Although , perhaps I don't have it!

I hope you find some help , are you on duloxetine ?

My friend has fibro and has found that really helped her .
