I'm a 27 year old female. Since the age of 24 I have been unwell... joint pain fatigue serve asthma.. firstly diagnoised with rheumatoid arthritis. After some failed treatment and a change In consultants fibromyalgia was the diagnosis. A bit of background below
After various more tests .. ultra scans ct scans blood tests .. all negative. ( note currently on 4.5mg prednisolne). No doctor really knows what is wrong and said there sure that something is but may take time to manifest. In July I was referred to opthlamogoloy as having problems with soar eyes where they will inflame and water for no apparent reason. Just had an MRI of brain and optic nerve waiting results.
I have suffered badly with IBS ( which I believed to be) I didn't ever follow it up as I didnt want to go to the GP with yet another problem. I have sufffered with quite a few suspected UTI in last few years. The doctor this time as diarrhoeawas present to do a stool sample. It came back abnormal with high levels of calopreactin. Rang test again to make sure it wasn't an infection. Once again same result. Doctor now wants me to have a camera to see what's going on. I am extremely anxious person getting me into an MRI scanner was a job and a half. Any advise or experiences would be great.
is there any other less invasive test I can have to determine if I do have an inflammatory bowel disease
can anyone relate to any of my symptoms. I havnt had any blood but do have mucus. My father also has ulcerated colitis. I have been referred onto consultant what can I expect.
Any info advise or experince would be great to hear
thank you excuse my lack of grammar my keyboard has decided to stop working and can't use question marks

Most of the tests are invasive,
You may need to get a CT scan, Colonoscopy which are the main tests to make a dignoases. In a colonoscopy they take biopsies from the bowel and can examine it under a microscope. A stool test isn’t a dignoases of IBD as anything can cause High CRP.
I was admitted to hospital and spent a few days as my CRP was very high. I was then put on drips and fluids to help decease the inflammation. They did a CT which revealed sereve swelling/ thickening along the Large Bowel and the most in the Terminal ileum. The colonoscopy which found things. Now I’m waiting to get a dignoases.
Hope you get tests and find out what’s wrong with you,
Good Luck Joel

I find the capsule test the best of the “crappy” tests but only shows small bowel I believe. Colonoscopies aren’t too bad & if you’re really worried ask for enhanced sedation.. Good luck & hope u feel better x
