after the antibiotics to clear an infection

Do you recommend getting a follow up x ray to see if the infection is gone? If the symptoms are gone then is it necessary to get another x ray?

    I don't see the point of an xray if your symptoms have gone. Xrays can help identify what lung damage you have, but for a thorough picture you would need a scan. If your doc is recommending another xray, then I suppose you should take their advice though as they would their reasons.

    Agree with John. After all, you don't want to be taking am x-ray every couple of months. And definitely not a scan!

    Thank you both, it makes sense to have the least amount of x rays possible.
