Hi Ann. My depression became unbearable in May 2015. It was with me when I woke up and I only had some relief when I could get some sleep. If was hell and I felt low all the time. I had never suffered from clinical depression before so it was the first time I had taken any type of antidepressant. Finally in July after the meds I was taking didn't seem to be helping at all and I was getting worse, my family took me to the hospital ER. A psychiatrist was called to see me and he committed me to the hospital for eight days so he could monitor my progress while he found meds that worked for me. I have been taking them since then and have my life back. I'm in my late sixties now and never expected to develop this illness so late in life. Is this the first time you have been treated for clinical depression? There are so many different medications available now. Have you talked to your doctor about dodages or other medication options that might help you. I feel so lucky to have found what works for me. I don'

It sent my reply before I was finished. I feel so lucky to have found what works for me. I don't just feel better, I'm happy and sleeping better than I have in years. I really feel like myself again and have my life back. Let me know how you get on. Please talk to your doctor or maybe get a referral to a mental health professional like I did.
Take care,
Phyllis

I always felt uncomfortable. I wasn't in physical pain, but I couldn't stay still. It was like I was so tightly coiled I would spring apart. It's hard to explain verbally. I didn't feel right in my own skin. Does that make sense?

I had finally retired, which I had been wanting to do for awhile. We bought a condo and moved and I thought everything should be grear. Then the depression hit and I was in hell. Some people deal with depression most of their lives, but I never had before. Maybe I was just strong when I had to be and then finally broke down when I no longer had to get up and go to work and ignore things that worried me because I had to carry on. I am happy again now though and I hope you soon will be too. I know it's possible, although no one could convince of that when I was sick. Keep in touch and let me know how you're doing.
Take care,
Phyllis

My mood seems ok in the morning, some people with depression feel worse as they go to bed, so I suppose if it is a problem with mood you nee to change that. and look for a diversion as you get up
Put the radio on in the morning and listen to a program you like that can calm you down before rising. Give it a go, nothing to loose
