    HI Ann

Yes sadly this applies to me.

I think it is primarliy triggered by back pain due to an avoidable accident. In my case .

I had a car accident many years ago and have back pain. What do you do to help the agitation on waking?  Has dr given you anything?

I refuse to take ad or strong pain killers. I have asthma so choice is limited anyway. I just try to distract myself but it is geting harder. I am going to see someone privately as I am fed up with the pain.

Hi Ann , I was even worse on medications. Since I come off them Im feeling like I can think for myself. Anxiety is always worse in the morning. I wake up with sickly feeling in my stomach and Im restless. But as day goes by Im getting better. Ive noticed that If I sit and do nothong I tend to think more about how I feel and get worse. I still think Im having withdrawl from mirtazapine. Been over 3 weeks since I stopped it cold turkey....

do you think the mirtazapine was causing the agitation/anxiety to be worse?  I had it on 15mg even on 7.5 the agitation didnt go away.  All combined of course with depression.  Nausea problem seems a little bettter.

Yes I think so. When I was on 15mg anxiety was there and I started getting thoughts that Im going crazy. That Im going to stop thinking for myself. Since stopping I dont have these thoughts and anxiety is the same as it was on mirtazapine...so whats the point of taking it. Now I can think clear and the idea that Im not anything gives me strenght😘

I think it started off ok on 30mg but when it was increased to 45mg that's when the problems started.

Just sick of it all now

Can yyou taperit down to the dose you were taking previously to see if it helps?

Did the discontinuation not make depression return?

the reason im tapering is that the higher dose was making me feel bad too.

I didnt take it for depression. It was for anxiety. I was little bit depressed but I think it was cause I was fed up with anxiety. I had extreme stress at work and thats what caused it. Now everything at work is resolved and I dont have a reason to be anxious. Thats what I keep telling myself and it helps. When I was on mirtazapine tho I felt depressed, felt numb, and didnt see my future bright. Now I feel like I can think for myself and I start feeling happy again. I know some people need AD but I wouldnt think mirtazapine should be first choice for depression. Its to sedative. Its better for anxiety. And its soo hard to come off it. I was on fluoxetine for 7 years and coming off it wasnt hard at all. 2 weeks of withdrawl and I was fine. But ive been on this for only 3 months and I feel like im coming off hard drugs. One lad told me here on forum that coming off mirtazapine is harder than coming off heroin. And he was addicted to it for 20 years. The main thing is to be positive. I know its easier said than done. But first we should try to change our lifestyle instead of running to doctors and look for magic pill. I did it and look where it got me. Was actually worse on ADs than without.
