Agonizing pain 3 weeks after bunion surgery HELP
Posted , 4 users are following.
Doctor never told me to exercise my foot after surgery or showed me how and after joint popping and foot stiffness I haven't been able to sleep for three days and my foot hurts so bad including cramps and spasms.
Im only 15 and this is my experience from large bunion osteotomy surgery and I'm too scared to try to exercise them now
I don't know what's happening and it really hurts.

Actually 14 days after surgery as today is second post op appointment
Will tbe unbearable pain cause any reaction from doctor or is this almost as painful as childbirth nothing for worry and just is tension pain, joint pain, joint popping, rolling tension, and pain in sutures from something weir-
Just remembered how i delt with odd foot thing before which was sitting up with my foot over the bed
Idk how it worked then but i haven't slept in days from my foot and the hoe is too painful to even try to do anything with it right now with it being almost 1 am and a thunderstorm happening outside.
Ill question my doctor about it at 4:30 tomorrow.
Fml this hurts so much why cant localised anesthetic last longer.

Hi Rule
I can't believe you had a bunion done at 15!
At about 3 weeks nerves start to heal, this made my foot twitch inside the pot. It is also very painful, like someone sticking hot needles into my foot- For this you need specifics nerve pain drugs, paracetamol doesn't touch it.
When do you next see the doctor?
What have your parents got to say and what have they done to help.
I don't like the sound of the joint popping!!! Personally I'd be making an appointment to see someone asap. Make a list of questions you need to ask and write down the answers.
Good luck.

You're still very early on in your recovery and sshouldn't really be doing much Just yet.
Do you have a facebook account....if so ask to join the " i survived a bunionectomy" group..... you'll get some very good info/help and they're all people who've have been/are going through what you are...
Things will improve but it can be a long haul....

Thanks for the replies, I had an appointment the day after it but didn't sleep that night (i had sleep deprived hallucinations from it but i slept last night finally which stopped the hallucinations)
The doctor said the joint stiffness was from not moving them for so long (i was put in a sock and boot during the appointment and told to move my ankle to help stiffness) and I later started reading on what might have caused it and likeliest reason was how it was night, thunderstorms, and lowered pain tolerance from the monthly cycle. I also had gotten the time wrong because my surgery was on a friday and it messed up the week count in my head (it was actually 2 weeks)
I also thought it was nerves but might not have been (I had it done by a highly rated and very experienced doctor who said that after it healed it would hard to tell that i ever had a bunion and said it was his best work)
And the reason i had surgery at such a young age was because at elementary age i was shoving my size 4 feet in size 2 shoes for a while (i stoped when it started hurting) and that my big toe was beginning to go under my second toe.
I have yet to exterience the pain again but i am still NWB for a few more weeks (maybe 4 weeks i don't really know)
Also I don't have facebook mostly because i dont know how to work it, don't want my dad to find me and follow me, have no space on my phone rn, but also dont find it too interesting.
I have problems with eating from my adhd medication and possibly from the pain killers (which are like modified tylenol but im taking half to avoid possible addiction and it messing with my head) but it isnt the first time i had appetite problems i just either have to take an older lower dose med or not take them during this (probably the latter)
