15weeks dwn the line FWB in pun shoes and the pain is unbelievable. Don't seem to be easing at all. I am still walking with crutche but most of the time I still shuffle. Been told by physio that it can be normal for St. It's really getting me down, don't know how much more I can take 😔 😔 😔 😔

    Hi Sandra

What injury and surgery you had? Also have you been in pain since the surgery? If you walk in your own shoes it means that the xray showed healing and your surgeon was happy with the progress. Have you told your specialist that you are in pain? Do you trust your physio?

I am 15 weeks post ORIF right ankle surgery, plate and 6 screws. I walk unaided, no pain whatsoever. Wishing you fast recovery

Same as yours. Plate n screws both sides of right ankle. My surgeon has been happy with it all from day one, and told me he didn't need to see me again unless my physio thought there was a need. I know I'm coming on every week but pain can be bad. I tell my physio but she doesn't seem to be concerned about it. She says the movement I've got is good I'm able to do ever she asked me to do, but do shuffle a bit when walking. I can not walk unaided with one foot in front of the other because of the pain. My be age has a factor, I'm 60 and other than this I've been quit fit. But do have torn ligament n right knee, but my foot pain over ride that. Pain is mostly over the top of my ankle and on outside where most of the damage was done. I do trust the physio, she seems very positive with my progress and is the senior therapist. I will ask at next visit if she thinks I need to see consultant.

If the surgeon cleared you that means that you are healing well. Massage the area every day. Also do your exercises. Everybody heals differently, so just be patient. Wishing you all the best. You will get there, don't worry.

Think the exercises thing is my problem as I am not doing everything on a daily basis because of the pain. But will have to over ride it I think and get past it. Just started some Epson salts foot soak last night which is supposed to help so let's see what happens. I'm so impatient and want it. Now. Lol. It's the hardest thing I've been though. Thank you. Sx
