airport security

Hi
?I am lucky enough to be flying away on a short holiday in November. I live in the UK and have heard I need a card informing security that I have two new metal hips so I can avoid setting off alarms on the metal detector machine. Does anyone have any advice on where I can get this please. The doctors surgery says it isn't something they provide.

I was also given a plastic card, signed on the back and dated by my surgeon. Since my surgery I have made trips to Iceland and England (from US), with 4 flights for each trip. Also had a couple of other security checks, once for an inter-iceland flight and once to take my grandchildren to the gate here in Phoenix. I have never been asked for the card and when I tried to show it, was told it wasn't needed. I still carry it, just to be on the safe side, but now I just tell them, and they send me through the full body scanner and/or wand me. These replacements are so common, they are quite used to it.

I was told that you can't get one any more in the UK - I just tell them now and wait to be scanned by hand.
In fact, I have made up a sheet of paper in several languages with a picture of my hip just to get the point over to the security guys.

Yes, I need to expand it a bit for more countries ... like China and Japan.
Perhaps include a page for that on my website?

It's just what Google Translate comes up with, so hopefully any officials in the airport would understand?
