Im 29 yr old girl. i was drinking alcholol for d past 5-6 yrs but suddenly i stopped drinking. wen i stopped drinking after 3-4 months unwanted things started cuming in my mind. i am bit confused. sumtimes i remain bit normal, but sumtimes automatically mood goes off i remain quite. i have breathing problmes even heart beat gets faster, dan my dad showed me to doctor he prescribed me tablet pregalin n sum 1/4 tablet of sleeping pill. dan one of my friend told me its bcoz of sudden  withdrawl of alcholol. i jst wanted to knw is it bcoz of alcholol

    Hi shanti29 , alcohol withdrawl's kick in after about 12-24 hours of stopping depending on how much you have been drinking and for how long, this also determines the severity of the withdrawl's- if i understand your post correctly these symptoms started 3-4 months after you stopped drinking- they are not related to alcohol- it takes about 7 days approx, again depending on how much and how often you drink, for all alcohol withdrawls to recede- whatever the cause it is not alcohol withdrawls- trust me i have experienced enough of them over decades of alcoholic drinking - stick to the meds the doc gave you and hopefully you will start to feel better shortly- all the best

      Thanx for taking intrest in reading my post n replying to it. Yes it started after 3-4 months. I used to drink in past for almost 5 years. N suddenly i stoped. My friend told me dat might b its bcoz of sudden stop of alchol.. I read many things in google dat wen u drink a lot d body used to alchol. N i suddenly stopped it. Im taking tablests for past 5 months. My head was like blocked. Wen u get cold how ur nose gets blocked jst d same way. I used to feel heavy load on my head. unwanted things used to cum in my mind. So i tried 1 bottle of beer in a week. N now d block thing is complete gone. I jst dnt knw its bcoz of med or bcoz of drinking again. I will send u one link plz open d witdrawal symptons of alchol

      Symptoms of AWS may appear anywhere from six hours to a few days after your last drink. These usually include at least two of the following:

      tremors

      anxiety

      nausea and/or vomiting

      headache

      increased heart rate

      sweating

      irritability

      confusion

      insomnia

      nightmare

      Numbness

      I had sum similar problems.. My head used to bcome numb
