Im fine on it. Doesn't seem to do anything negative. However I do get drunk quicker. How long have you been on sertraline for? I didn't drink for the first 4 months.

I love a few pints on a saturday while watching the football on t.v, but ive not had a drop for 4 weeks now and its not because im on the tablets as if i want a pint i will have one but to be honest i dont think having a few drinks will harm you. Try it im sure you will be fine but all i can see it doing is making you get drunk sooner which is fantastic and cheap lol enjoy it and please dont let anyone scare you if they say negative things about drinking while on tablets. Ive drunk on antibiotics and medications for anxiety before and i was fine

Maybe try it at home first? Lucky you not having any side effects!

Well alcohol does that to anyone as its a depressant, you will be fine honestly just see what your limits are so if you can normally drink say 1 bottle of wine and be merry but still able to walk and talk, but on these tablets you are merry off say half a bottle then know your limits. I could knock back 5 pints and be merry but on tablets maybe 2 or 3 so cheaper and more enjoyable night without the hangover yippy

It does make you drunk a bit quicker but not massively.. altough the first time I had a glass of wine whilst on sertraline I felt very light headed and more drunk than I normally would! After that it was ok. I am on 100mg. It helps to eat first though but I guess that's true in general anyway. What dose are you on?

Hi jane ,, I'm on 50mg 8 days in that's all , no one knows I'm on sertraline so when I was offered a drink an refused u was bombarded with loads of questions , not that I'm a massive drinker or anything but I enjoy a glass of wine x

You could try a bit and see how you feel.. thats what I did and I was ok. I hate people being like that, it's really not nice - they should mind their own business! Sadly I think it's more acceptable - socially - to say 'i cant drink as i am on antibotics' rather than 'i cant drink im on anti-depressants.' It shouldnt be like that.
