Alcohol and Sertraline

Hi, I've been on Sertraline for 5 days now and in no way am i thinking about drinking alcohol now, i have heightened anxiety and im not sleeping well, and i know alcohol makes things 10 x worse for me at the moment, even before Sertraline. I'm just wondering a lot further down the line, when im hopefully feeling better, do people manage to drink small amounts ok on Sertraline without too many side effects, once your anxiety has subsided and you feel better again? I'm 30 with 3 young kids, always up early so I never have more than a couple of glasses of wine, or else i'd be rough in the morning!

I've read about the mechanisms and potential issues with mixing particularly serotonin syndrome. im just wondering how likely this is with low amounts of alcohol and 50mg dose.

Thanks in advance

Hi, I have been on sertraline 50mg for 6 weeks now, I will have a drink on a weekend socially and all I can really say is you just get drunk a lot easier! It used to take me a lot to feel even tipsy but now after maybe half a bottle of wine I am done. The hangover also feels 10x worse. I would recommend if you are drinking to eat something prior so your stomach is lined!
