I can't find my old patient leaflet from a packet of Librium I had, but that is way below the detox amount.

Whoever prescribed them has no idea of the recommended amount. Unfortunately your post has only just been approved after three days. So, you've either had a torrid three days or you've had some alcohol to feel better.

That delay is bad.  I hope it was not real bad.

Yeah my sentiments.  I am 67 and thinking along the same lines.  I am down to 2 units Monday to Friday - Sat and Sun - a bottle each night.  If not, no sleep all week.   Got to have some sleep.

Sean, you are so not alone - feeling this for you. Please don't desert us.  We all know what you are going through.

That amount of librium is very low, but you have to take into consideration the fact that you're drinking still, and taking librium while drinking is not recommended. I only know that because my partner tried to get some and was told that she had to abstain to be prescribed librium.

A few days later she got some zopiclone online and a couple of years later was having to try to withdraw slowly from that, while still drinking. I thought she would die but she did manage to stop the zopiclone eventually.

You could ask a different doctor for an opinion.
