Alcohol -severe side effects

Hi,

I've developed an issue over the past year whereby anytime i drink alcohol i have to worst reactions.

Within 4 hours of drinking alcohol i'll be consumed by shivers to the extent that my tongue is in pain from my body tensing. I'll sweat at a rate that can only be likened to someone having some kind of fit and both symptoms are almost impossible to stop.

I'll generally only drink once a month so its not a common occurence but i've not suffered with this for the first 30 years of my life.

Is there any explanation as to what this may be?

thanks to absolutely any insight in to this in advance, i'll really apprectiate some feedback.

All i can find in searches is alcohol withdrawal and deadly related effects to an extent, but as someone who will only drink rarely, is this still a rare possibility?

Amazing and quite shocking. I have never heard of such strong side effects and would suggest that you stop? I am not medically trained and cannot really help you. So sorry. Once a month is very rare i think.
