Aldabra and LSbefore

Hi,

My doctor has now suggested to try Aldara on my LS/hpv cycle. Issue I have is that if I itch I use the steroid Betnovate, but the Betnovate brings out a small wart. So the doctor says don't use the steroid.

Yesterday she suggested I try Aldara on both. Has anyone used Aldara on LS?

this dermatologist is not a specialist vulva dermatologist.

thanks

I looked this up. It's meant for warts and superficial mild skin cancer. It said people with auto immune disorders shouldn't use it, and that's probably what LS is...

      Hi,

yes that's what I read too. The issue i have is the dermavate (club) and subsequently Betnovate have caused an outbreak of warts (which I never knew I had - married 20 years). The steroid can bring about a latent infection. So the dermatologist says to stop the steroid and has given me cryo surgery for the warts. A few days later the warts are gone but the white patches/itch is back. So I use the steroid and two/three days later the warts come back. So it's a viscous cycle. The doctor has suggested using Aldara on the LS and warts but I'm concerned about using it. I'm at a loss as I'm in a cycle of either controlling symptoms of LS or were moving a wart,

i haven't tried the Aldara yet and just don't know what to do!

I'd be inclined to give the Aldara a try. You're not committed to using it forever. But what else can you do to try to break the cycle? Cryo is likely to start the Koebner effect – any trauma to the skin causes an LS flareup.

I used to get warts on my hands when I was in my twenties. Cryo many times. At some point (knock on wood) I stopped getting warts at all. So there's hope in that...

      Thanks Morrell.

are you in the UK? I'm wondering which brands of frankincense and jojoba you use and how much.

      Ill give anything a try!

Canada. I got them at our natural foods supermarket. The jojoba is from Now Solutions and the frankincense is "100% pure essential oil" from Aura Cacia. (I understand that less expensive frank is mixed with tea tree oil.) When I bought these I also bought a half-ounce dropper bottle. The bottle without cap measures 68mm by 25 mm. I fill it with jojoba and add three drops of frank. On all this I spent about $60 CDN.

Great thanks, how long would this amount last/how many times a day would you use this? Really appreciate the advice 😊

Not so much advise as another shot in the dark, shared. I use it as often as I can be bothered swabbing my bits with wet toilet paper and blotting them dry first. Definitely after my bedtime baking soda splash or after a shower. I don't think it would be bad to use it four times a day.
