Yes I might have posted on the other site once recently. Walking the dog is the least of the time-consuming things! It's running around after him constantly - such a relief when he's asleep - just like having a baby. He is VERY wilful and naughty so is taking all of my time. I haven't even had the chance to read a book since I retired at Xmas!
But -yes- it is nice to be retired. I did the right thing there. We haven't yet felt the financial pressure though.
My recent health problems seem to have gone - long may it remain so. I have developed dry eyes but don't know if that is associated with PMR or steroids. Saw an eye specialist who was particularly unhelpful - my husband, who went in with me, said afterwards, " he was singularly uninterested in your case".
I am reducing Pred very slowly this time, being guided by ESR as I don't have symptoms. Am about to drop to 2.5 every day I think. How are your meds going??

The name 'physical wreck' came about because everything else I could think of came up that somebody had already got it. I will have a look at the site for 2nd and 3rd line options but I don't think I would feel confident now in any kind of biphosphonate in what ever format. I am gradually getting over the reaction but my feet are still swollen, although at least now I can get my boots on! With regard to your reaction with the valium. I had clinical depression in the mid 1970s and while they were still trying to work out what it was I was put on a very low dose of valium. Within three days I felt like I was on a 'trip'. No-one could understand what I was saying or anything. My husband had to make an appointment with the doctor, and as my own doctor was on holiday, I got an appointment with one of the others who specialised in depression. One of the best things that ever happened as he put me on the right track. Some time later I was talking to a friend who was also on valium, I was on 2 x 2 daily and he was on 3 x 30 daily and it only just kept him under control! so yes everyone is different. I was looking on the NOS site after I found you and most seem to have changed to Strontium and never looked back so we'll have to see what transpires. I have the added problem that I am on several different pills for my heart and I also have trigeminal neuralgia so I have another one with that, so I have to be careful what may react with what. Anyway, I am also retired and since I retired my father was suddenly taken into hospital serioiusly ill and subsequently passed away so all last year was hospital visiting (30 miles away), organising funeral, disposal of estate, getting his house ready to sell etc. Everything went very smoothly but that meant that I hardly had time to draw breath before the next thing. And I had such plans for the garden, too! so now the plans are booked for this year instead. We have two dogs and six cats so I understand what you mean about the puppy being like a baby. They all get very fidgety when the weather is bad and they can't get out. It is lovely in the evening when they all curl up and go to sleep!
