This journey ..... Although very new to me is throwing so many different obstacles in my way ...

Since the increase in pred there has been an improvement in my hips , elbows and if you could slice my body in half it would be great !!!!! Hence my reference to an 'Alien Invasion'

the last 3 days my top of my neck , base of my head is so painful as well as my left shoulder ......

So hard to get your head round , frustrating , disabling, and so very painful .

lethargy ...... Will need corn plasters for my bum lol

is this the norm ?????

on a positive

no wet bed for 2 nights ..... Hot sweats ..referring too not poor bladder control smile

hoping that some of you out there that are far more experienced and expert than me can advise smile

Find yourself a Bowen therapist and try a few sessions!

Some of the neck/shoulder/hip problems can stem from something called myofascial pain syndrome which often occurs alongside PMR but it will respond better to localised therapy. Cortisone injections are also an option as is manual mobilisation of the trigger points in the shoulders/mid back/lower back (delete as appropriate).

But Bowen also works and you don't need a doctor's presccription - just a bit of money. But you will know within 3 sessions if it will help and often after just one.

      Thank you Eileen

I have googled , and there are therapists in my local area here in Coventry.

I will certainly book a few sessions when I feel well enough to get out of the house .

      Thanking you

lodger will tell you I suspect that she didn't feel well enough to get out of the house but a friend packed her into the car and got her there. She staggered in with the friend on one side and a walking stick on the other. When she left she got to the car and realised she had forgotten the walking stick and had to go back to fetch it.

Have you got a friend you can phone?

I didn't even think.... that's one of the things I'm struggling with... asking people for help!!!

But I certainly will, will try anything to help ease the neck pain.

      thank you all

You MUST learn to ask for a bit of help - you will learn who your friends really are in this journey! The best help is a cleaning lady IMHO!

I had Bowen at the advise of Eileen. I had constant hip pain and although still a little stiff, I can now actually get my shoes on. It took a few seesions but, even after one session things improves. It did get worse for a day or two but it works like that as it works its way through

It also helped with a few other niggles too

Helen, I too have had Bowen Therapy on Eileen's advice. My neck problems sound similar to yours and after 3 sessions I have found a 95% improvement.
