Hiya my fellow hippie's...

Had appointment today with the surgeon, he checked out my right leg for movement etc, had a RTHR last October...

Had x-ray today on other hip and he has agreed to put me on the waiting list, I've got to shift some heavy timber I'm carrying at mo πŸ˜€ so fingers crossed i should be all done and dusted for end of summer ish...

Had a chat with him over my lower back pains, he said getting the other hip done would help the back a lot, so last packet of hob knobs and maybe my last pork pie..πŸ˜€

Onwards and all set for my second THR..

All the best to all ya going through your first THR and I'll soon be joining the Double Hip Club...

Stay Safe & Stay Happy...

Pete 😊

Hi gdoug, long story short, I lost my job before my last op, contractor, so no pay off, 2 months later had op and just starting to feel good and look for work again (skint and no help as husband works) so need to find work before I can think about taking the 8 weeks or so recovery time as last time, it's not as bad as my right so could probably wait a while.

Good luck with your 2nd hip.

I had been suffering with lower back pain for years and had been told it was curvature of the spine and nothing could be done. So just keep taking the pain killers for life. The hospital even gave me a TENS machine.

2 years ago I had my RTHR and it was a miracle cure. I'm not on any medication and have no back, hip or knee pain. Brilliant.

Hi hippie28.. Was your Op 2 years ago for your second hip replacement πŸ€” lower back pain 😟 I know just how ya feeling, I've had back pain for a number of years and it's the same, nothing we can do just keep taking the medication etc etc.

I'm on the waiting list now for my second THR, just hoping when it's all done and finished, my back is also free from pain...All the best for a happy pain free future....😊

      Hi monkey pearl,

This was my first thr, and I hope my only one.

I originally was referred to the knee clinic as I had severe pain in my right knee. When I went for the appointment the physio saw me and sent me for a pelvic xray. On seeing that she said I needed a RTHR. As you can imagine it was a shock. That was in August 2016. I had the op in Jan 2017.

Apparently the pain in my knee was referred pain.
