Hi Doodle, That sounds exactly as I was on the first night, in fact i ended up with two shots of ora morph and didnt get any sleep at all. The next day and second night though was totally different and I ended up having a very comfortable second night. Something to look forward to. If your recovery is anything more like my recovery then the first night was by far the worst night and it gets better all the way.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Hang on in there. I didn't have a drain when I had my hip replaced, but I had one since then, when I had emergency surgery to get rid of my appendix. I found it a bit of a nuisance, and you're right, it will be better when that is removed. Hope you are feeling a bit better today. I hated the nights. (And my top tip, take all meds that are offered!)

      All the best, Judith

      Hi Doodle

I hope the rest if the night was ok for you. I have taken myself home from work today, to be honest I shouldn't have really gone in, it was a struggle to walk as it was.

Stay positive and hope you sleep better tonight xx
