i've had a feeling like a lump in my throat since the beginning of the year. it would come and go for a week then return. i then started getting a build up of mucus in my throat that i have to cough up. i went Dr and she prescribed omeprozale and said i probably had a cold. i feel fine no cold symptoms at all! its been 6 weeks now and no change. still got lump feeling and coughing phlegm up. the only thing that makes me think its an allergy is my nose runs too but taking antihistamines make no difference. . any ideas?

I have had this problem too.The doctor wanted to put me on omeprazole as well but I am sure it

is the coating on the tablets that I already take that causes the problem.I had patch tests some years

ago and I am allergic to some resins and hardeners. The problem is getting someone to help

let alone listen and I am constantly trying to get information out of people.

Have you been taking any other tablets before the problem started ?

My GP told me Globus which has many causes, anxiety would be mine.

A Specialist at the hospital told me that steriods like Symbicort and Flutiform that I use for my allergies/asthma can cause the swelling sensation. Another specialist that did my endoscopy wants me to have an Oesophageal Manometry, looking for reflux. For me, all of this has shown nothing nasty going on. Benadryl chesty forte helps me at night time to loosen the phelm to cough up. Hope this helps, Renee.
