If you are not dilluting your essential oils it will most certainly be causing a problem. It also depends on the essntial oil being used.

I find this is fine: xxx It has jasmine oil in it.

    Hi jbow

My daughter had terrible eczema/dermatitis on her hands, and after allergy testing it turns out that the cause was two metals found in door handles, coins, taps, zips etc. as well as parabens in toiletries. We would never have guessed the metals! My recommendations would be to see a dermatologist get tested then avoid whatever substance is causing your problem. I do sympathise as when your hands are sore it is miserable. Hope you find a cure soon.

Hi jbow, it's very common to have such a reaction to essential oils. If you have to use them due to your job can you wear protective gloves? Some are very fine and tight fitting these days.

I have psoriasis and use good old E45 as well as prescription ointments occasionally. An old remedy is to put a spoonful of olive oil (any type will do even vegetable oil if stuck) in your palm, add half a teaspoonful of sugar and rub gently. It feels a bit odd but when you wash it off with warm water and dry them your hands will feel lovely and soft, then apply any good quality hand cream (thick creams are better than thin ones always), axtrixo is a good one and wrap them in a towel for half an hour. It's also good for getting hands clean after gardening/something really messy.

I also use a cream called Eucerin, it's quite pricey but extremely good, you don't need very much at a time and very soothing. I save up my boots points for it!

Hope you find an answer soon. Fanny Jane
