Allergy to feclafenadine

Posted , 5 users are following.

Well, I have been suffering really bad with my rashes for the past week, so much so my skin is scarred. Went to the docs and they said to increase my feclafenadine as there is nothing else I can have. I increased to two a day.

Last night i was rushed to hospital with chest pains and couldn't breathe. Found out I have a chest infection and had an allergic reaction to the antihistamines. I feel like im being fobbed off and back to square one! I am really not coping with these rashes as they are covering my whole body 😥🙇

Hi Sallyann, I understand you live in the UK. Try to get a referral to see a Dr Sabroe at the Sheffield Hallamshire Hospital. She is a specialist dermatologist for urticaria in all its forms. She will help you and she works only through the NHS so if you can get a referral only travelling to Sheffield will incur cost. Infection, illness and stress are huge triggers for urticaria.  The antihistamines may help once your chest infection has gone. I was on cyclosporine for six months. Its is an immune suppressant and it worked for me alongside doxepan which is an antidepressant with some antihistamine as well.  Both these druggs may work on you or may not. I didn't have a reaction to them but some people on this blog have.  Urticaria is very different for everyone finding a treatment that works can be very difficult so I hope you can find yours.

Dr Marsland was very helpful to me too and has an urticaria clinic in the dermatology unit in Salford Royal and sees private patients in Spire in Whalley Range, Manchester too.
