Allergy to nickel caused my blisters on my feet 🦶

i am 26 and had both my feet done. i had steri-strips put on my first foot and they caused blisters and itchyness and scaring. i went to a derm to get her help before my other foot was worked on and found out im allergic to nickel, and adhesives.. the odds of the nickel being an issue was rare so my doctor changed her suture from steri-strips to frankenstein stiches. the next surgery came 6months after and i still got the small blisters. pin needle sized.

now i know i got friction blisters because those were large and in areas where the friction was Inevitable but the small blisters i got came even after the wrap was removed and nothing was on my foot for weeks. they were extremley itchy and painful a nd literally woke me up at night. i went back to my derm to find out that "an allergic reaction to the metal is extremley rare and that shes never encountered this before" medical grade surgical steel can have traces of nickel and my once small sensitivity i believe has spread into a large allergy. the bumps have past for the most part but i do have small cluster blisters that have developed on my palms and bottoms of my feet that are worse to deal with. this was told to me to be dyshisrotic eczema. which is a type of eczema that is caused by a nickel allergy.

has anyone dealt with something like this??

    HI

Yes, it happened to me, last year in March i had my left foot done. I had a stainles steel staple snd a titanium alloy screw implant in my foot. I had issue healing from the bigining. i developed blisters on my foot that was not healing.. About 3 months after the surgery i developed itching on my body, rushes, eczema and blisters on my hands. I was tested for metal allergy 7 months after and it was positive to some metals ( all alloys in the implants). I had them removed short after , but been left with these allergies forever. I am still recovering.

There is a supporting group on facebook called

I survived a bunionectomy . You can ask to joying , its very helpful.

    I hope this helps.
