started sertraline 50mg for anxiety and depression 10 weeks ago. felt dreadful for ages but then improved about week 7. this weekend i all of a sudden feel back to anxious etc like the lovely calmer lighter feeling is gone. i hate feeling like this so much and makes me appreciate how much better i actually was feeling... side effects for me have been awful so i know i wont be able to tolerate any higher dose - not sure what to do but think ill have to try something else...anyone had this experience?

Hello, sorry to hear about what you are going through. i can only tell u what happened to me on this med. I had the same effects as you plus some others. I had to increase to 100. The side affects that I got from the increase was nothing compared to starting on 50. I think alot had to do with knowing what to expect. But I am so happy that I did. Talk to your doctor to see if an increase will benefit you and if not there are other meds out there. Hope this helped.

you should definitely try an increase before switching. i felt absolutely rotten on 50mg for 10 weeks and then upped to 100mg and felt great after a week. give it a go you have nothing to lose. i was terrified of increasing because my side effects were so awful on 50mg but i didnt get any additional. good luck x
