Is it common to still have quite a bit of swelling at almost 6 weeks post op and have a burning sensation right at bottom of incision or hip bone?

Yes. I didn't have the pain/ sensations, but the swelling. I got to about 8 weeks, and was suddenly astonished to find my shoes were falling off the foot! Not only had the op swollen it (expected) but so had the OA. I hadn't realised. I suddenly dropped a whole shoe width!

I have no swelling at 6 weeks but still get odd aches and pains in different places which come and go. I assume it's just my body getting used to the new parts and it all settling down!

Hi there I'm at two weeks post total hip replacement and my swelling is practically gone which is just amazing to me I get my staples out in about four days
I hope you ask your doctor about the swelling.
perhaps you could Try some ice. And elevate the heel of the operated leg just a few inches
