Alopecia question

hello. I'm a 38 year old healthy male. a couple years ago I grew out my beard and noticed I had a few spots, on my chin and neck, where hair wouldnt grow at all. then around a year ago I developed a bald spot on top of my head about the size of a quarter. being as I have a full thick head of hair, it really stands out. after doing some research I decided to try out red/near infrared light therapy and ordered a device online. now, a few months later, using the device one to two times a day, hair is starting to grow back in all the bald spots but is very thin and completely white. i have dark brown hair everywhere else so this also stands out. would this still be considered alopecia? why would the regrowing hair now be white? any help would be greatly appreciated. thank u for ur time.
