ALS worry

Hi , I have had health anxiety for 5 years , i normally worry I have cancer - over the last 5 years I have thought I have skin cancer , breast , bowel, thyroid, ovarian and brain cancer !! I did have a short lived panic about heart problems after having palpitations, however along with other symptoms these disappeared when my gp told me I was fine 🙄any way I have had a stiff thumb for a while and twitching muscles and cramps in my legs arms and nose , I mistakenly googled these and am now convinced I have als and I’m dying , I have managed to convince myself my arms are weak so I spend ages lifting things and doing fine motor skills to reassure myself I’m ok , I spend hours googling , I know I’m too young - 44 - and female ( mainly men get it ) and I have no family members who have had it but I can’t stop worrying , I hate living like this all the time , I seem to pick a condition and then my body mimics the symptoms, is this possible for anxiety to do this ?? Thank you

Do not think it is ALS, you heart has been checked and I would imagine your GP has knowledge of your Lungs
Your GP is happy with a diagnosis of Anxiety, and personally I would trust your GP diagnosis.
Regards all your problems you mention are to extensive and your Doctor would have picked up on your problems. It must be horrible thinking all above is something serious.
Keep of the Google you will just feel worse and you will imagine you have a tranche of serious problems that in your case over the top. Just do not go there !!!.
Talk to your GP regards any Stress and Anxiety and move on

44 Still young, sixty seven and feeling it.
All I can really say I have two Chronic Condition, both confirmed. You need to understand if you suffer Anxiety your body is sensitized to pain, even then your problems feel very real to you.
Your GP would have found any problems that would have a possibility of causing any problems. Doctors can tell on many occasions if you are having health problems and if results are good the need to accept these results is so very important.

Had that scare myself after I began getting muscle twiches but ALS starts with extreme muscle weakness like you can't pick up a blow drier. So relax you would know as it would be extreme and muscle twiches are one of the last symptoms you would be in bad condition by then. Hope this helps!

I’m going to tell you something. When I was in my twenties, I had many symptoms all at once and thought I had a terrible disease. Including muscle twitches all over!
That was almost 40 years ago. I still get them if I get anxiety or stress.
YES anxiety can definitely cause weakness, muscle twitches and many more symptoms.
I was so weak once that I couldn’t get off the couch. Had muscle twitches, eye floaters, weak arms and legs, foggy head, tingling, numbness, shortness of breath, etc.
Athletes Get Many muscle twitches due to how they use their muscles.
They are not harmful.
Stop googling! You don’t have Als, you have Fear and anxiety causing negative thoughts. You can take any symptom and it will be associated with just about any condition.
I wasted over 30 years with worry and fear and can’t get back one of those days! Nothing bad ever happened.
Listen to some great meditations on you tube for Overthinking, worry and Fear.
One is called Detachment from Overthinking.
Another short great one is called Mindfulness Meditation Guided 10 minutes
The more anxious you get over your symptoms, the worse they will get.
Relax, Slow Down, Get Counseling for Anxiety
You are gonna be fine! 🌸🌸🌸🙂👍

Thank you so much everybody, you have all made me feel much better , to be honest the twitches don’t happen in the day much mainly at night when I am lying there stressing ! It’s so awful ! I go a few months of being ok then get some unrelated symptom - google tells me I’m dying and then it sets off my crazy anxiety 😩😩some nights I just lie awake googling and stressing ! I’m a single mum and my stress started when I split from my ex as I now worry what would happen to my gorgeous kids if any thing happened to me , apart from my health anxiety I’m not too crazy - honest 😊
