Alternative to Nexium

Hi

Im new on here but have decided to search for some help with my reflux

I have been on Nexium on and off for about 12 months now. Im 68 years of age and fairly fit. I say fairly fit because until about 3 months ago I rode my bicycle for about one hour every second day but I now find after riding for 15 minutes I feel nauseous and have to retun home.

I am having Nexium 20mg daily but have to increase that to 40 mg some times as the 20mg doesnt seem to help. I have just started a one month trial eliminating coffee, alcohol. spicy food , chocolate ,beef and cheese from my diet (which will be very ,very difficult as I love my food)

I am booked in for a scope but with corvid ramping up in our region the government is cancelling elective surgery so that is disappointing as it would be good to know if there is something that surgery can repair going on

On researching side effects of long term Nexium use , I am wondering if someone can suggest I try another less harmful drug.

Thanks in advance

Geoff
