    Hi Ann,

My mum had Alzheimer's and I was told that as we get older we like sweet tastes more? She also went off certain foods. My mum loved donuts with cream in them so I'd always take them when i went to visit. Ask your doctor if you become very worried about your sister. Also, do you have any extra help coming in or does your sister go to a day centre or anything? My mum really liked going to the day centre once a week until she became unwell and couldn't go anymore.

    Hope that helps

      Hi Ann,

I would definately talk to her doctor explaining your concerns for her. It maybe that a change to medication could help?

It's tough if it is only you doing everything for her. I have a sister who helped and my mum also had Parkinson's which led to her falling and breaking her hip. This led to the authorities deciding she needed carers to go in each day and luckily, mum was ok with this. Before hand she had said no to the idea. She actually took to the carers quite well which was a relief. I'm not saying that your sister will be the same but, I never thought my mum would be ok with that and she may change her mind.
