Always crazy hungry on mirtazapine!

Hi

I take mirtazapine 30mg, have been for nearly four months now. I find that I'm insanely hungry all the time, I am trying not to over eat though because I don't want to put on too much weight. Does the appetite stimulating effect ever wear off or what do you do deal with the hunger? Some days I can just feel contantly hungry and could eat one thing after the other all day long!

I will be honest with you, I quit mirtazapine after doubling in weight and being hungry 24/7 which last a year. Everyone is different, but the hunger never left me and I couldn't not eat because it caused me pain and added stress to try and stay away from food.

I won't sugarcoat it sometimes you just cannot control it, but saying that sometimes you can! There is always hope.

I did read an article by a fitness instuctor who was on mirtazapine and he carried on his regular strict diet and exrcise routine and still gained weight. Mirtazapine can either be your saviour or hinder you.

I hope you can avoid the weight gain, I've had to quit because I couldn't handle it.

    Good luck with it all!
