    Hi

You have to come off the venalfaxine very slowly and cut down by small amounts each week the dizziness does stop after a while. Try taking Benadryl as this seems to help with withdrawal Simptoms I don't know how it works but it does I read about or on the US forum so that's why I tryed it as everyone was saying how much it helped them

Hi Michael, Could you tell me which benadryl this is as there are three different ones each with different ingredients. There is : Acrivastine,Cetirizine and also Diphenhydramine. Thank you.

      Hi

Cetrazine hydrochloride is the one you need to get. Is doesn't have to be Benadryl as you can get packs of cetrazine hydrochloride from the chemist this is the best to use as you don't need all the other ingredients that are in Benadryl

Thanks for that. Michael. What were your experiences with this and did it help you cope with withdrawal from the evil drug?  I think people would like to hear your story of discontinuation.

It stopped the dizziness as I was tapering off but have only completely stopped taking the venalfaxine since yesterday I have been hanging on to a low dose of 37 mg for the last 2 months so have decided to stop now and see how it goes but early days at the moment

Michael,  You are brave!  I am in the same boat but bought a pill cutter  (£2) to cut the 37 mg down bit by bit to try and avoid some withdrawal effects. How much cetrizine did you take daily as a matter of interest? 1 or 2 a day?

I expect it to take a month or so.  let us know how you get on. It will help us on this forum.

      Hi

I take 2 tabs per day and that seems to help. I don't think I'm brave its just that I am used to going through this kind of thing as I'm a recovering alcoholic and when I came off the booze it was hell on earth and compared to going through that this is know where near as bad. I have been through a lot of hard times in my life and I'm kind of used to it to be honest, so if I can get through all the bad things I have been through then I'm sure I will get through this. I'm also trying to come to terms with the love of my life finishing with me on Thursday so I feel very sad and alone at the moment , but I'm sure I will over it in time and am trying hard not to think about it as what's important is that I get well so I have to concentrate on that for now

You have been through hell and I am sad that your love left you . But YOU are the most important person.  The same happened to me and it hurts!! Do you not think that you should, at this point in time , slowly taper the remaining 37.5 mg. As the last 37 is the worst so I have read.

I just want to get it done with now I have been hanging on to the last 37mg for about 5 or 6 weeks now and I'm not going to let the fact that I have lost my girlfriend stand in the way. I was going through a divorce and losing everything I had when I gave up the booze so if I can do that I can do this

Yes, I agree with the feeling of getting it finished once and for all. I wish you the best of luck in this.
