Always feeling sick/discomfort in my stomach plus stool problems. Have no idea what it could be.

Hello, for the past month I've had this stomach feeling that I have a hard time describing. I think maybe feeling sick in my stomach is the best way to describe it. It's a combination of feeling sick and a uncomfortable feeling that sticks with me. Stomach pain is rarely a problem since it almost never happens. My stool is almost never normal. It's always mushy, fluffy, no form, etc. No blood in there or anything crazy as far as I've seen. I've been a bit more gassy as of late. I am not lactose intolerant, drinking or not drinking dairy products does not seem to change anything. My diet is healthy for the most part I'd say. I eat plenty of fruits and fiber, and get a decent amount of vitamins in there too, etc. I recently stopped taking antidepressants cold turkey about 3 weeks ago. Prozac was what it was called. I had rough side effects for a bit but they seem to be gone. I don't think the discomfort in my stomach and stool problems in my stomach is connected to the withdrawal symptoms. I don't think it is because it would seem unlikely that somehow all but one or two side effects have stayed with me an unreasonable amount of time longer compared to the other and more prominent side effects. So in the end I ask, please, what should I do? I plan on going to the gastroenterologist eventually but I really doubt they'll find anything in me sad. I don't feel like doing anything in this condition. It's scary to have this problem and have absolutely no clue what it is and what's the cause, especially if it's been going for this long. I don't think it's stress that's causing this either. I'm at a loss. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

    Hi cloudy10117

Withdrawing cold turkey from taking any medication for a length of time can cause stomach upset. You should have tapered off prozac and given your body time to adjust.

To be certain it is not withdrawal symptoms from prozac keep a food diary and see if there is any correlation with the food you are eating..for instance do you get discomfort and abnormal bowel movement after certain foods. Keep a record of what you eat each day and time you eat and write alongside if it caused any adverse effects....

No I don't think there is any correlation between the food I am eating. I kinda have this discomfort 24/7

Maybe you have IBS.  I would see your doctor sooner rather than later     to get a diagnosis that willl put your mind at rest.  Your doctor is the best person to ask.

You need  to see your doctor, and find out what is going on.

I too have stomach discomfort almost 24/7. I really don't know what it is and I am so scared to see a specialist because I think they will find something life threatening. I m so scared and the fear is stopping me from enjoying my life.

    Not cool at all...
