Always Short On Breath!!

Hi All! This is a great community and I genuinely hope you are all doing well!!

I suffer from Anxiety and Panic attacks and cannot seem to stop constantly scanning by body for problems out of complete fear.

I don't always feel anxious but i do notice when my breathing isnt right because i feel chest discomfort and get a rash near my sternum that outlines my lungs? Does anyone else get the same thing? It really worries me.

Thank you 😃

when you constantly scan your body like that, you are telling your brain that something is wrong and that’s why you feel like you are short of breath. Adrenaline is released and that’s what happens.

The rash could possibly be hives from the anxiety. But you can always get that checked out with your doctor. i’ve had hives all over my body from anxiety in the past. does it itch?

SCANNING your body is not going to help you in anyway. It’s only going to increase anxiety and fear and other symptoms.

You can’t Google your sensations either to diagnose yourself. it won’t pertain to your individual situation and you’ll scare yourself for no reason.

when we have anxiety it’s important to be aware that it can cause negative thoughts and fears. And you get caught in the circle of fear, anxiety, symptoms such as shortness of breath, tingling, and on and on. Round and round and it’s a completely miserable feeling!

I did that for over 20 years and I can tell you it’s not worth it!nothing bad ever happened as far as my health goes. It was a complete waste of days and years I can never get back.

I suggest that if you have this fear, speak with a counselor who can help you manage it. It’s very destructive. And very difficult to try to get rid of on your own. stay active and busy so you don’t overthink everything and hyper focus on your body. Doing things for other people is very rewarding and keeps you busy. Get some exercise, laugh with family and friends, etc. Take care
