Am going crazy with worry

27 Dec-Unprotected sex with who I presumed to be a “safe” partner. Have known her for a long time and she just got out of a 5 year marriage.

The next day I have an irritated penis underneath the foreskin.Feels itchy, but no lesions (I put this down to some over vigorous love making) a few days later this goes on and gets a little worse but (or more focused on it due to anxiety), I then have some trouble urinating and is cloudy and smelly.

But… For the last month (before sexual encounter) or so I had an itchy anus. I don’t know what was causing it,I itched and itched it over the last month and assumed it was down to being a bit overweight & rich Christmas diet of red wine and pate.

Now this goes on for a few weeks, then I start googling symptoms in early January & I immediately think it must be Herpes. I start to panic, I stupidly dip my penis in bleach (stupid i know) and next day go to the STD clinic. The doctor took a look at my penis and said not herpes. Nothing to worry about (he didnt look at my anal region). The same day I go to itch my bottom in the bathroom and there is blood and green mucous like liquid there. I could feel there were cuts (no pain) & I immediately went back to the thought that it was herpes.I got home after and wiped again… still blood and green mucous.

I bath and check my anus in the mirror, and see 1cm cuts about an inch apart around my anal area. They are not particularly painful.

Monday I visit my GP and she takes a look, says doesn’t look like Herpes. Wednesday I visit specialist GUM doctor, says it doesn’t look like herpes, looks like thrush, does PCR swab came back negative. Antibiotics for urinary symptoms.

Since then I have developed a tingling up and down my right side (Anxiety)

Girl I was with says she or her husband never had a history of herpes.

What are the chances of developing a first outbreak on the anal area?

Is it possible the doctors are all wrong?

No recurrence of symptoms except urinary urgency on occasion?

You had anal issues before your encounter and herpes does not cause urgency or frequency of urination, only painful urination in some people. A first outbreak also usually occurs where you were infected, so you'd expect something going on with your penis, not your anus. Recurrences can occur elsewhere, however.

Doesn't sound too much like herpes to me, though, but you should find out what's going on with the anal bleeding and green mucous. In the meantime, don't dip your penis in bleach. That doesn't seem like a good thing to do, lol!
