I am sorry to hear this. It does sound to me that you are depressed. I myself have suffered from severe depression for about 15 years on and off ( i am now 30) and understand how horrible and sometimes terrifying it can be. I too have physical symptoms for example aching limbs this may be down to muscle tension and maybe you are feeling weak from not eating as much?
Do you mind telling me how old you are and if you've experienced this before? Has anything happened recently to trigger this? Do you have a supportive family?
You said you have trouble discussing how you are feeling, this is understandable as you are feeling low and emotional and its scary. I just want to let you know that everyone I have ever spoken to has been very understanding and its extremely common to get depressed. I would strongly suggest talking to your gp about it. They will be able to give you advice and might give you medication Ito help ease the symptoms.
Also this is not a flaw in your character and its not your fault, it is an illness that is very treatable.
Things that REALLY help depression in my experience are;
Exercise on a regular basis, this releases endorphins which increases happiness
Eating as healthily as you can, oily fish is good and dark chocolate!
Try to think positive thoughts even if its tiny little things like appreciating a cup of tea etc
Try to keep doing things that you usually enjoy with people who you like being around, I know it's hard but please try
Avoid alcohol because this is a depressant...I have made this mistake on occasions!
Get a book about depression, this really helped me
Also the Samaritans are great to talk to at any time of the night or day if you really need to talk to someone, you don't have to give your name. I have done this before.
Hope some of this helps, good luck
Lou

Thanks for your reply. I have since seen my Doctor and been prescribed with a low dose anti depressant. I have had my blood test results back and it looks like I have diabetes, going for a glucose test next week. He Los said my cholesterol is high, but to concentrate on the diabetes first. I am also having an x-ray on my back as I have a constant pain between my Shoulder blades, which is getting me down. I have a nasty taste in the mouth but don't feel like eating anything. I will keep taking the tablets and hope all his improves.

Sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with diabetes, but I'm very glad that you have been to see the doctor. I know that when you have physical problems like your shoulder pain, you can get you down.
The great thing is that all of these problems can be treated effectively and you have done all the right things and I'm hopeful that the antidepressants should help you too.
Remember to exercise and eat well....this should help with diabetes, cholesterol and depression.
Hope the glucose test and X-ray goes well. Good luck!
