Am I getting Tailors Bunions

Posted , 2 users are following.

So it looks like I'm getting a tailors bunion on both feet however they're not the biggest. My little toe is beginning to point inward (see pic for detail) and seems to be a lump on my foot. Im pre 20 yrs a ski instructor, and preparing to train as a mountain guide a few years down the line so my life is spent on my feet, I've never really noticed these bumps before but after a few months of climbing seem to have. I don't know whether this is because I've got tighter shoes on for climbing or just down to reading something about tailors bunions and me thinking I've got bunions. Im an over pronator and my mothers side of the family have bunions but non of them tailors. Im booked in to see orthotics but the referrals taking a long while here in the UK so I'm just after some more expert insight into whether or not I'am intact starting to develop tailors bunions.

    Hi Harry,

I am 30 months post op tailors bunion.

Looks like you have it too.

It will eventually get more and more sore so that you try to pad it. Tight shoes will only make it worse I am afraid. My little toe turned completely side ways, then the next one followed so I ended up having the bunion removed and 2 toes straightened. don't want to alarm you but it took me 6 months to get back to work. I still have problem now but maybe I am just unlucky. If you can bare it, leave well alone and see how you go. I deeply regret having mine done, I cant do half of the things that I did before the operation. Wear wider shoes and only get it done if you absolutely have no option.

    Regards

    Pauline
