Am I going crazy?

I'll be 52 this year. I have had some of these symptoms for over 10 years in order of appearance. I just recently had blood tests done and I was certain my thyroid was out of wack but it was completely normal, as well as all other results. The Dr says its all to do with Perimenopause.

Heat intolerance

Excessive sweating

Face and neck flushing

Occasional vertigo with episodes lasting longer (up to 48 hours)

Shortness of breath when bending down

Hair loss/thinning

Skin changes (rashes, fungal infections, Sebhoric dermatitis,Peri oral dermatitis, Tinea versicolor)

Intolerance to exercise

Explosive Diarrhoea

Bloating

Arthritis

PVC

Sleep changes

High blood pressure diagnosed about 10 years ago managed with meds

Periods are regular (25 days light bleeding for 4 days)

Is it normal to be going through this for so long?

no you are not going crazy, although i might be crazy too. i am 49 and went to doctors when i was 45 with various concerns, aching joints, fatigue, tinnitus etc, but was told it was my age and i am getting old - slow down a bit!

lockdown etc helped but after trying HRT last year which didnt seem to make a difference I stopped. as a result i relate to all your symptons, plus some.

i have gone back on HRT after asking for my hormones to be tested rather than just guessing and they came back menopause. i am in constant pain, have anxiety like never experienced before, insommnia (improving with hypnothereapy) and general feeling of blllaaaaahhhh!

how did women cope before it hit headlines or were they treated for depression, anxiety, polymyalgia .....

been told it takes about 3 months for hrt to take effect - I am 12 days in and counting. dont get too many hot flashes but suffer from coldness, i just struggle to think hormones can bring a fully functionning eoman to her knees - going to a self help group on Monday just to know i am not making this up!

Get your hormones checked as i found the uncertainty made the anxiety worse at least now i know my hormones indicate probable menopause along with everything else, the other suggestions made by the doctor can take send place.
