Am I going nuts??? Please help

have any of you lovely ladies had trouble getting your words out? I was saying something to my husband and realised I couldn't hear myself so started again and the words came out freely. So weird!! I have no stroke symptoms etc and I googled which was a big mistake so now I think I have a brain tumour. Health anxiety drives me nuts. Would this be classed as brain fog or no?.

    Hi Kylie,

Oh yes, I have trouble finding words often. I sometimes feel like there is a weighted blanket over my brain. It takes soooo much effort to think through the fog that I am exhausted at the end of every workday.

Or there are the mornings like today, when I pull up to the cash machine and wait for it to take my order like I'm at McDonalds 🙃.

I have migraines often here lately, and part of that is brain fog too, so with both meno and migraine, I feel like a mess.

    Hang in there,

    Sara

yes, awful migraines! how is it meno has to destroy each part if body?! i mean WTH? its hideous. migrsaine headaches are just the worst type headache other than cluster type. If super markets sold morphine off the shelf I would get morphine for migraines. its that awful. i lost my job due to meno. i thought id get better in post menopause. Nope.

totally relate. Brain fog could certainly be a symptom of this lovely life destroying thing called menopause. awful anxiety. feels like dying. we all seem to worry here about getting cancer/stroke/heart attacks.

i have unrelenting insomnia. sleep 12 hours a week. exhsustion brain dead to complete horrific degree. forgot my NAME last week. my name..... horrendous

Yes.... insomnia is the worst. I'm exhausted all the time. I am always forgetting words, it's embarrassing.

no need to be embarrassed! I think we're actually pretty terrific ladies for doing anything at all in menopause. Even just taking a walk, writing a comment, making a healthy meal, loving our families.... those things are major. For folks who dont have menopause, and the ones who have a non symptomatic meno, they cant fathom how impressive it is that we, here, can function considering what we suffer with . Wishing you peace. keep visiting us here. your experience helps us!

    Hi Kylie,

Yes, that's definitely brain fog. Happens to me a lot. It's just another wonderful symptom of perimenopause.

    Take good care,

yes I am often very forgetful. It drives me crazy. It's quite embaressing at times. Like you I often have to reread an article or a paragraph of a book because it doesn't sink in. Often when my husband asks me something I have to ask him to 'Please say that again'

I feel tongue tied a lot. I'll be talking to hubby and words come out weird. He just keeps talking to me like he understands what I'm trying to say. lol. My mom told me when she was going through this she put a pack of cheese in her clothes drawer one day. It's brain fog, comes with territory. THE ABSOLUTE WORST THING TO DO IS GOOGLE SYMPTOMS. Trust me I know from experience. It can really heighten anxiety and cause unnecessary worry. Just blame everything on hormones. It makes this so much easier.🙂

I totally agree. Googling is the absolute worst thing to do. I am having a bad day today. I woke up totally exhausted. I can barely put one foot in front of the other.

I do odd things like your Mum too. I put ice-cream in the cupboard and cones in the freezer Lol

It's just part of it. If it makes you feel any better, I feel like crap almost everyday. I'm so tired, and just fill weird.I have maybe 2 or 3 days a month that I feel good. Now on top of feeling horrible, my bladder is acting up. Ugh does it ever end.

Beth, I couldn't have said it better. Feeling like crap and feeling just weird - that's me too. I had a really good day on Sunday and was so happy. Then Monday came around and I felt like crap again. I just want this to be over!
