Am I recovering from Shingles or just between stages?

Hello there, I am 37 and developed a cold sore on my lip on Monday, the following day it felt as if the tingling was moving up the left hand side of my face, eventually covering my cheek and eye. I visited my doctor on Wednesday who advised it could be early shingles. She agreed to give me a prescription of Acyclovir which I started on Wednesday. Today the tingling has almost disappeared and apart from feeling a bit more tired and weak I do feel better. Do you think the medication has kicked in and I am on the mend or that this is the stage before the rash?

    Hi Laura,

    you may have caught it early and starting the tablets before the rash appears is ideal so you should be fine 😊

    i have taken Acyclovir many times as I have reoccurring shingles and they do make you feel really tired and dizzy, it's normal, have you not had shingles before?

      Ah thanks Sarah, I do hope so! Yes first time. I do feel for you, although I feel as if mine has been mild compared to a lot of stories on here, it's been horrible. Thanks for the reply
