Am i wearing out my bladder?

When i stop and go several times while urinating, will this damage my bladder muscles over time? How much time does this take? I have been holding off on getting a TURP procedure, in hopes that some better technology will come along (like Urolift) but now i'm not sure if waiting will work for me if it will lead to damage of my bladder. Thanks for any info that you may have.

Dan it's not your prostate. This is a very common misconception. It's your pelvic floor muscles. All of these various diseases with the lower urinary tract have to do with the muscles in your pelvic floor. They have all stopped working as they did before leading to this dysfunction. It's actually called pelvic floor dysfunction. Just look into it. You're going down the wrong road. I have been dealing this for over three years after a urinary tract infection and I know that all of these problems come from an infection that then goes away slowly and leaves problems with urination and even pain. I am finally having surgery to correct my problem after all this time, but please push on this and don't let it be because it will test you in ways that you never imagined. It will test you both physically and eventually very seriously mentally. I guarantee you this will not cause damage to your bladder muscles. The only thing that can happen is if you have a big problem with incomplete bladder emptying then you could develop pockets in your bladder but that is commonly seen in the elderly though. I know how difficult this is and I really hope you take my advice and look into the pelvic floor. It's not only a condition of women, but men as well. It's too bad we have a prostate and doctors have all gone stuck on prostatitis leaving patients on the road to nowhere.
