I have reached 9mg/10mg on slow reduction and appear to have woken my adrenals! Having effects that go straight to my bladder regularly throughout day and night with a feeling of fear. not pleasant! Last time this happened I ended up in resus! CRP on blood test is up to 14 and GP says to stay on current dose. Pain in upper arms, neck, jaw, head, hips buttocks and thighs. GCA/PMR diagnosed Feb 2014. Recent rheumi appointment he said atypical PMR and not GCA.

Predisone definitely increased the frequency and urgency of needing to go for me. That fact was proven when I switched to taking prednisone in the evening a while back.  I'm up every 1 1/2 to 2 hours every night.  Things settle down during the day.  This is the reverse of what was happening when I took the pred early in the morning.  FYI, I switched to evening meds to avoid the foggy brain and fatigue I was suffering at the time.

Since childhood, I have always had the urge to urinate.  Mom use to say, I have a leak in my bucket. I learned to live with it but seems like more than a problem now. Must always know where the bathroom is. And it seems that the more my inflammation goes up that the urine smell is awful. I have had it tested so nothing really wrong but the frequency & smell is so disheartening! Good luck to you all.

Yes I have a problem with the smell too! What was tested? There must be a reason for it and I bet it could be discovered with the right test! If only dogs could talk they could tell us!!

They thought, I could have urinary stones or an infection which can create an ammonia-like odor. If I were Diabetic, the smell would be sweet, because of excess sugar. Actually, my smell is hard to describe.  Just know it was pungent.  Don't know the name of the tests that were taken. Sorry!
