Amazing side effect - pain relief

Posted , 1 user is following.

I experienced severe pain from nerve root impingement L4-5. Pain meds included Duragesic 200, Tylenol 4, and several other narcotic pain relievers. Major pain break through after mid period (1 1/2 days Duragesic).

Tried 3.75mg zopoclone under tongue....better pain relief than Tylenol 4 tablets.

I have spoken to several people who use 1/2 dosage of zopoclone as pain relief for moderate to severe pain.

My problems were corrected with spinal fusion L4=5=S1.

Only take zopoclone now, as pain reliever. Have heard similar stories about amotripoline. Has anybody studied the pain relief aspect of zopoclone? Worked very good on my lower back problems.

This is just what I needed to hear. I also have severe lower nerve root pain. I had an epidural nerve root block recently hoping this would be the answer to my lower back pain problem. Instead I experienced excruciating pain whilst the injection was being administered (to the point I had to tell them to stop three times to get one shringe in). I was pain free for 3 weeks but now the pain has returned to the extent that it wakes me up constantly every night. I don't have a problem falling asleep once I've managed to get settled in bed but when I'm waking every morning at 3.30-4.00am, it's now joke. I'm currently building up my dosage of Gabapentin but asked the doctor to give me something to help me sleep. I've gone from hardly taking a paracetamol to taking loads of medication each day. I've been prescribed Zopiclone to help me stay asleep during the night so tonight will be the first time I take it. I don't want to take it anymore than 2-3 times per week but hopefully when I'm at my full dosage of Gabapentin I won't need any at all.

yes, I have this drug for sleeping problems. A half tablet is usually enough. I have facet joint problem in cervical spine and its painful just in the evening once I am tired. the Zoplicane takes the pain away 100%in about ten minutes

I have joint and muscle pains which are very limiting to me - but late at night is my best time by far because I have taken the zopiclone. I end up staying up after taking it to get things done which seemed to difficult earlier.

I wish someone would do more to look into this and come up with a daytime version for us!

I know that in some places it is used to try and get responses for comatose patients and improve their function. It seems that it has the opposite effect on their damaged nerve receptors and wakes them up. So perhaps it is manipulating our damaged neurological responses in a constructive way too.
