Amazing what a little 'click' will do.....

I had my first THR in June 2016 (2nd THR is next month) and the result was good - I can walk ok and I'm no longer in pain, so the op should be considered as a success.
However, my new hip didn't feel quite right. I have tried to explain to other people how it felt and failed quite miserably because all I could say was that it just didn't feel right; it was if I could almost 'feel' that there was something foreign in my hip/leg and it didn't feel part of me. Unfortunately, a very poor description and no real help to anyone trying to understand what I meant (including me)!
On Saturday, I was changing the bed and doing those funny sideways steps you only use when changing the bed, when my new hip suddenly 'clicked' and then it felt 'right'. There was no pain with the 'click', just a kind of relief. Now my new hip feels wonderful!
So, I've no idea why it didn't feel right in the first place and I've no idea what 'clicked' and why - I just know that I'm dead chuffed with the result!
If anyone has any ideas on this, I would be pleased to hear them.

No more problems, but I still do get a minor click if I move a certain way, stepping out sideways rather than straight ahead but no pain or discomfort.

Thank you, good explanation - sounds like that was my click.
I knew someone would know on this forum.

I wonder why this was missed on x-ray? maybe because the difference was minimal???

Hi Renee
I can only assume that it was missed because the difference was so small - and also not helped by the fact that I couldn't actually explain why it didn't feel right.
Off to my pre-op on Friday - whoop-de-wooo!!

Oooh - I wish mine would do that
Perhaps the ceramic socket wasn't seated properly like mine, and it seated itself

All I can suggest is - change your bed linen - it worked for me!!

I've done that a few times, no change, so I have decided hard manual labour is required to try to get it into place. Just started a couple of weeks of building work in the garden with a two of tons of railway sleepers
