Amblyopia/ Lazy Eye

Posted , 2 users are following.

Specsavers did the Fixation Disparity test on me, and found I have a very mild issue of lazy eye in my right eye. My brain isn't processing all the information from my right eye when both my eyes are open.

They said it is very weird because I have 20/20 vision and very mild Amblyopia but nothing to worry about.

People around me only started noticing it about a year ago. and I've only started noticing it recently. My questions are:

  • How could I have developed it as an adult? I'm 26 and I did a Lasik surgery 5 years ago to correct my short sightedness. Could that have caused it?

  • Can it get worse?

  • What should I do next?

Thank you!

Hi Kevin, I am fortunate because I am under Ophthalmologists but if you don't have an Ophthalmologist to ask this question, I have found in the past, that the RNIB are very helpful because they deal with a lot of people with sight problems and not only blind people.
